The Guatemalan capital dressed for a gala on November 21 and 22 with the celebration of the X National Tourism Congress. The event, organized and promoted by the Guatemalan Chamber of Tourism (CAMTUR), brought together more than 200 entrepreneurs from all corners of the country, as well as renowned exhibitors from Guatemala, Central America, and Europe that had the responsibility to talk about current and far-reaching issues for the development of this important and dynamic economic sector.
CATA was invited to present the strategy of multi-destination promotion implemented by Central America in six European markets. The presentation given by Ana Carolina Briones Pereyra, CATA’s Secretary General, explained the work and activities carried out to position the brand and the multi-destination product of the region in the preference of the travelers in six target markets: Germany, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
Likewise, CATA informed the entrepreneurs that the Agency is developing three important studies -best prospect- for the British, Spanish and German markets respectively. The results to be shared with the entrepreneurs through the Central American Federation of Chambers of Tourism (FEDECATUR) will be the basis on which a plan of action will be built to improve the promotion and positioning of Central America in these specific markets.
