Promoting and facilitating the commercialization of the Central American multi-destination product is one of the tasks that CATA has been implementing as part of the product promotion strategy for wholesalers from European target markets and outreach to the markets of the Central American tourism companies that are promoting the multi-destination offers.

Central American Multi-destination on the rise in European Target Markets

During the second half of 2016, CATA, along with the Central American Tourism Authorities and FEDECATUR, operated 80 familiarization trips in Central America, where 36 new wholesalers interested in the multi-destination product of the region were mobilized.

During this period we had wholesalers such as TUI Spain, Nuba and Press Tours, all of them from Spain; Santana Travel, Take Off Erlebnireisen, Aventour Gmbh and Reiseburo Kruse from Germany; Jet Tours, Latin Soul, Marco Vasco and Caracteriques de Ameriques from France; and, Tenzing Travel, Treasury Travel, Travel Counselors and Travel Club from the Netherlands. From the United Kingdom we received 11 wholesalers among which are: Last Frontieres, Original Travel Select, Latin America, and Mot Mot Travel.
